China has hosted a 5th Forum on China-Africa Media Cooperation based on online and offline events and sessions in Beijing.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Senegal President Macky Sall African Co-Chair of FOCAC sent congratulatory letters to the Forum.
Huang Kunming who is the Political Bureau and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee read the congratulatory letters from the presidents to the forum and gave his keynote speech to start the forum.
Huang said the letters of both leaders have fully reflected the great importance of China-Africa cooperation and their high expectations for further deepening media cooperation and a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Africa.
The 10 years old forum for China Africa cooperation has provided an important platform to facilitate dialogue and cooperation between Chinese and African media. It has also remained significant in deepening China-Africa friendship and strengthening the bonds among people.
The opening Ceremony of the event was hosted by Xu Lin, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of the Chinese National Radio and Television Administration China.
CEO of the African Union of Broadcasting Gregoire Ndjaka, Mayor of Beijing Chen Jining, and Minister of Information and Media Zambia Chushi Kansanda gave opening remarks during the start of the forum.
This was a 2-day event that also featured an exhibition of “A Decade of Achievements: China-Africa Media Cooperation (2012-2022).
Chinese and African media has collaborated to promote innovation convergence and deepen cooperation in areas of digital technology and the digital economy. Both aimed to strengthen exchanges, share opportunities, and improve digital governance capabilities.
With the Theme of “New Vision, New Development, and New Cooperation” the dialogue was held on media development policy, content cooperation, and innovation as well as technology application, and digital convergence.
