Alibaba Cloud Empowers Global Partners with New Initiatives and Collaborations

Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, has launched a series of new initiatives and collaborations to empower its ecosystem partners and enhance their businesses’ growth. At the recent Partner Summit 2023 in Singapore, the cloud service provider announced its Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Acceleration Program, a training empowerment portal for partners, and new incentives to reward partner excellence.

ISV Acceleration Program

The ISV Acceleration Program aims to provide global ISVs with new financial incentives and technical support to expand their business opportunities in Southeast Asia. The program will help ISV partners optimize their marketplace listing fee on Alibaba Cloud’s marketplace platform and expand their product sales through the cloud leader’s sales team and vast network of channel partners.

Additionally, Alibaba Cloud will enhance technical support for global ISV partners by offering comprehensive technical enablement resources to help them build, publish, and operate their solutions on the cloud platform. The company will also co-develop customized products and solutions with ISV partners to meet the diverse digital transformation demands of customers across Southeast Asia.

Partner Empowerment Portal

The Alibaba Cloud Partner Empowerment Portal provides product and service training and certifications, educational content on topical technology developments, as well as resources and tools to increase partners’ service capabilities. The portal aims to empower 500 global partners, including channel partners, Managed Service Partners (MSPs), and ISVs in the current financial year, with training topics covering cloud, AI, Web3, and more.

New Financial Incentives

To bring more tangible benefits to its partners outside China, Alibaba Cloud announced a series of new financial incentives, including discounts and rebates, for resellers and distributors and joint go-to-market initiatives. These incentives are part of the USD 1 billion investment that the cloud service provider announced in 2022 to support its global partners’ technology innovation and market expansion.

Collaborations on Security, Blockchain, and Talent Development

During the summit, Alibaba Cloud also unveiled deeper collaborations with its ecosystem partners. The cloud leader announced its new collaboration with IBM to provide a best-in-class security solution for businesses across APAC. The co-developed solution integrates features of IBM’s security products and Alibaba Cloud’s security capabilities, providing real-time reporting and centralized visibility into the cloud environment to detect threats such as ransomware, insider threats, and cloud attacks.

Another collaboration is with Avalanche, a leading blockchain platform that provides a launchpad for businesses to rapidly deploy metaverses on the Avalanche public blockchain. Cloudverse is a one-stop solution for businesses to customize, launch, and maintain their own metaverse space, creating new dimensions for engaging with customers.

Alibaba Cloud also announced collaboration with training partners to bolster talent development in Southeast Asia. With the target to train 100,000 general public talents in the region by the current financial year, the SEA Talent Empowerment Program aims to attract training partners to contribute to the talent development drive.

Recognition of Partners

The cloud service provider recognized a wide range of partners for their collaboration and innovation in contributing to customers’ success over the past year. The Asia Partner of the Year honors eight partners, including IBM, AI Rudder (from Singapore), LGMS Berhad (from Malaysia), PT Sigma Cipta Caraka (from Indonesia), and Digital One (from Hong Kong).

Conclusion

Alibaba Cloud’s new initiatives and collaborations demonstrate its commitment to helping global partners thrive and innovate on its cloud platform. With the ISV Acceleration Program, Partner Empowerment Portal, and new financial incentives, partners can expand their businesses and service capabilities. Moreover, deeper collaborations with IBM and Avalanche on security and blockchain, respectively, and talent development drive will enhance Alibaba Cloud’s ecosystem partners’ technological capabilities. Overall, Alibaba Cloud’s efforts to enable and support its ecosystem partners can help drive innovation and growth for both the partners and the cloud platform itself. As more businesses embrace cloud computing, Alibaba Cloud’s initiatives position it well to continue to expand its market share and serve as a trusted partner for organizations seeking to leverage the cloud for their digital transformation journeys.
